August 9th 1888 Society met with Mrs Hindman(?). Six ladies were present. We elected officers for the coming term, which resulted as follows - Mrs. Michell Pres. Mrs. Latham Vice Pres., Mrs. Alexander Secy. As the old treasures concluded she had such thing of it, we could not persuade her to step down + [illegible], so she still holds the office (+ [illegible] tax) in all her glory. The rest of the time was well spent in reading selections from the lives of prominint [sic] women. Such as Francis E. Willard. E.C Stanton. Mrs LaGrange read Dr. [illegible] article on "Woman", + judging from the number of noses that were elevated it was not well received. Soc adjourned to meet next week. Mrs Mitchell, President. Mrs Alexander, Secy August 14th No Meeting August 24th '83 Seven ladies were present at Mrs Cooks. The President delivered her inagural [sic] address, after which, [illegible] discussed the various colleges of the U.S. Mrs (?) read an interesting sketch of Harvard, William + Mary, + Washington + [illegible] Colleges.
