September 29" 1880. The Cary Club met with Mrs. Sa Mange. The Sec being absent. Mrs. Saltham was appointed by Pres as sec pro tem, As the Subject under discussion was still England Mrs Jackson gave us a detailed description of the House of Commons and following this other members read J.B. Nilkies Lovedon Letters on Red Tape. George Elliot and carious other [illegible]. Considerable conversation and discussion interviewed until the hour for adjournment arrived. Adjourned to meet in two weeks at Mrs Salthams. Mrs. J.S. Mitchell President Mrs. Alexander. Secy. October 13" 1885. The Cary Club met in the pleasant parlor of Mrs. Saltham. Six members present. Minutes read and approved. The subject of the preceding meeting continued, together with the Woman's Congress and most of the afternoon was devoted to discussion and reading of the [illegible].
