June 15 1920 Kindly Mrs Bailey invited Cary Club to hold a picnic at here home June in honor of our new member Mrs Locke. It was an Ideal June Afternoon & was enjoyed by all. delicious picnic [illegible] our last meeting of year. Secy wishes to report receiving from Forestry Assoc'n 10 Memorial Tree certificates of reistraction. in honor of our dead soldiers. of Marion who died in World War. I have distributed the same to familys of soldiers over [clipping] Honor Roll Recorded. The current issue of the American Forestry Magazine contains a list of honor rolls of the nation in cases where memorial trees were planted in memory of the soldiers of the recent war who died or were killed. The following appears concerning the memorial tree planted on the Marion library grounds: "Marion, Linn country, Iowa. By the Cary club. Sergt. Joseph H. Barnoske, Everette J. Leasure, Leo G. Marchant, Justin M. Lillie, George L. Foulk, Clifford Murphy, Howard B. Benneman, Earl, B. Dodds and Cecil Harlan Biggs. [end clipping]
