97 Marion. Iowa Oct. 30. 1922 Mrs. Waffle - hostess. Meeting called to order by the Pres. Mrs. Shumack, roll call responded to by quotations. Fifteen members present. Minutes of Oct. 16 read and approved. The president spoke words of welcome to our new member, Mrs Fernow and exten- ded to her good fellowship of the club. There being no other business the program followed. "Human Nature in the Bible (Solomon) Mrs. Reickert Mrs. Winter reviewed the book "The Covered Wagon" by Emerson Hough. It is a mag- nificent novel of pioneer days. In it Emerson Hough tells of the hopes, the fears and the love of the men and women who struck out into the great open spaces of the West. He has used them to form a wonderful romance. It is a novel full of the clear air of the great west where every path led the ad- venturer to new horizons. The review as given by Mrs. Winters was very interesting The club adjourned to meet in two weeks Eleanor Locke. Sec.
