118 Marion Iowa Oct 9, 1923 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs Phelps. The president, Mrs. Barley, called the meeting to order The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Fourteen members responded to roll call with scripture quotations The motion in regard to increasing the membership of the club which was laid on the table at the previous meeting came up and a motion was made that this motion be left on the table for the present. carried. This year the club will study "The Founding of New England" from the book written by James Thurslow Adams. Mrs Ives had the lesson on "The American Background" and Mrs Alexander told us of "The Staking Out of Claims." Current Events were given and the club adjourned to meet
