The regular meeting of the W.C.T.U. for August was held in the Congregational church Tuesday the 18 [illegible]. Meeting was opened by the song "Marching to War." Mrs. German had charge of the Devotionals. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The chairman of the nominating committee then gave his report which was as follows: president Mrs. C.S. George, vice president Mrs. German, treasurer Mrs. John Lincoln, secretary Mrs. James McKee. It was moved and seconded that the report be accepted, carried. The reports of the different departments were given all of which are very satisfactory, showing that the work of the year 1931 has been profitable. It was moved and seconded that these reports be accepted, carried. A bill for one dollar for picnic was allowed. The secretary was asked to send a card signed by the officers to Mrs. Horace Royal. Also a message of sympathy and greeting to Mrs. S.[A.?] Martin. It was moved and seconded that the secretary send a note of thanks to the park commissioners for creating and up holding the kittenball game and other outdoor sports. It was moved and seconded that we carry on our peace essays and S.T.I work as last year. Carried. It was moved and seconded that Mrs. German be made a life member. Carried. It was moved and seconded that the Union Signal be [put?] in the library. Carried.
