The W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. James McKee 1005 High St. Dec. 15. The president Mrs. C.S. George presided. The meeting opened with the song "Abide with Me" Mrs. Lena German had the devotionals, reading from the twenty fourth chapter of Luke. At the business meeting it was decided to give the Good Fellows five dollars. Bills of $1.65 for [drayage?] freight and lid for barrel of fruit sent to the Benedict Home. Also .75 cents for plant sent to Mrs. John Evans were allowed. A not of thanks from Mrs. Evans for plant was read by Mrs. George. A letter from Mrs. [Te?] Paske concerning the dinner at Washington was read by Mrs. Lincoln. Mrs. E.B.T. Spencer favored us with a beautiful Christmas song. Rev. W.J. Stewart then read a very fine paper on "Progress of Prohibition." The paper had a very hopeful tone and strengthened our belief that the eighteenth amendment is not likely to be repealed. The meeting then closed with the usual benediction. Mrs. James McKee Secty.
