131 July 1936 W.C.T.U. held their July meeting at the home of Mrs. Kearney. Mrs. A. W. Howell had charge of the devotionals. She read from the 121st psalm, and the 11th chapter of Isaiah. Westfield had charge of the program which consisted of violin music by Alyce Pearce, a reading by Elizabeth Lord, and a song by Marvene Pearce. Minutes of June meeting called for. Secretary did not have minutes. President read a letter from Mrs. Mann Voted that president appoint someone to see about dime cards. Voted that nominations from the floor be made for serving on the nominating committee. Mrs. Kearney, chairman, Mrs. Hamilton and Mrs. Mitchell are the com. Mrs. German said barrel was here. Mrs. Kearney announced that Miss Bailey is in the hospital. The Union voted that the secretary send Miss Bailey a card. We voted to take up a tree-planting project, to be carried out at a suitable time in the future, to plant a locust tree or some other kind of tree, in the park Miss Bailey has given the city. Mrs. Gregson said the county Union asks if a committee of this Union would serve to find a place for the county convention. Mrs. Gregson was appointed chairman, with power to choose her own committee members. She chose Mrs. John Evans and Mrs. William Hamilton. Voted that we should ask to have our August meeting in the Congregational church as we always have done every August, and that Ada Park should see that the door is unlocked. Ada Park, Secy.
