Oct 29 1914. The Grinnell W.C.T.U. met in the U.P. church, whose pastor Rev. Lawrence, led the devotional service After singing two hymns "Ministering Angels" and "How Blessed" he and [illegible] 28 and 29, and led in prayer. "Lead Me Home" was sung. Mrs. Dague sang a solo "Joy [leometh?] in the morning," After the minutes were read, Mrs. Wattand, Delegate, gave the Report of the State [leonvention?], at [deriston?], She responded a fine [leonvenition?], Mrs. Isabella Brande was made a Life Member of [Slate?] W.C.T.U. We gave $2, as a Thank offering, [Milo?] Bailey read a deseription of some of the "floats" in the parade, moved and sec. that the following bills be allowed, 40 cents for flags for 9th Dist. float. [70?] cents for[leavyierd?] correspondence cards, $3.00 for prizes for essays. Moved and sec. that temperance [illegible] be purchased to give to the public schools.
