October 21, 1919 The monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U met at its place of meeting the parlor of the Congregational church. The meeting was opened by singing #256 and 255 of the hymnal. Mrs. Lincoln had charge of the devotional. Scripture was read bearing on "Being too busy" she exhorted all to take time for the most essentials and let other things come in as secondary. Her talk was followed by prayer. After the devotional the president being absent Mrs. Lincoln had charge of the meeting. Secretary report was read and approved. Treasurer being absent there wasint[sic] any report read. Mrs. Stocks(?) reported 12 members and four meetings already been held by the L.T.L. A bill of $1.50 presented and authorized to be paid out of the treasurer. A report from committees were called for. Mrs. Baily the head of Sunday desecration gave her report. The W.H.M.S.(?) of the M.E. Church have offered their help in assisting to clean up Grinnell from the Sabbath desecrations. Mrs. Kearney gave a few comments on the work that comes under her work. Mrs. Hamilton work(?) was considered and as an assistant Mrs. Buck(?) was appointed to help Mrs. Hamilton. Mrs. Watland, Eichorn(?) and Richards were appointed by the president to look after the barrel for the Benedict House Moved and seconded that the Union Signal Crusades(?) be subscribed for by sec. Mrs. Kearney brought up the matter concerning the pins(?). It was decided to order one (?). After business Mrs. Baily gave a very interesting report of the convention followed by Miss Buck who continued to give a glowing
