190 Mrs. E.L. Renfrow was hostess to the Womens' Christian Temperance Union in the afternoon of Dec. 21st 1926. There was present a large room-full of interested folks with five ministers represented. Rev. Fryhoff led the devotions reading from the 2nd chap. of Mathew and Acts 10:11. Mrs. John C. Lincoln and others spoke words of appreciation of Mrs. Charles Woods another of our beloved and devoted departed members. The president recommended that a letter of sympathy be sent to the family. Mrs. W.R. Wilson gave a very optimistic talk on Community and Law Enforcement. The following bills were allowed: Two Dollars for flowers for Mrs. Woods funeral Five Dollars for the Goodfellows -- ? Stephens Fund Mrs. O. H. Shaw was made director of Evangelistic Work in place of Vice Pres. B. Church M.E. Hess were chosen as a committee for a meeting to observe the 7th anniversary of the 18th Amendment, Jan 16, 1926, at the U.P. Church. A Program committee was appointed, Miss Jennie Baily, Mrs. G.W. Richards and Mrs. M.E. Hess. Meeting closed in the usual order Anna Hudnutt, Sec. [Pasted down newspaper clipping]: Grinnell keenly feels the passing of a life member, one who bestowed twenty-five years of loyalty upon the W.C.T.U. Mrs. C.S. Woods, who entered the new life Jan. 10, 1927. "Well done thou good and faithful servant.["]
