The W.C.T.U. monthly meeting was held at the home of Mrs. John Erame May 17th, 1927. The president Mrs. Robt. Lincoln presided. Work for the Night is Coming was the opening song. Mrs. D.S. Morrison led the devotionals. The subject was Prayer Instances of answers to prayers were given. The secretary's report was read and approved. It was moved and seconded that the Union Signal be sent to the Chief of Police and the city library. A selected committee composed of Mrs. Robt. Lincoln, Mrs. J.S. Stoaks, Mrs. G.H. Richards, Mrs John C. Lincoln and Mrs Emma Baily was chosen to see what can be done against Sunday Morning p. shows and any other Sunday shows. It was requested that flowers be taken to the Ladies Rest Room, Ginnell, there to be arranged to be sent to the Orphans Childrens Home, Toledo, Ia. June 9, 1927. They delegate to the County Convention to be held at [illegible], Ia. May 27th are Mrs. Robt. Lincoln, Mrs. H.O. Shaw and Mrs. M.E. Hess. A Mother's Day program was conducted by Mrs. J.S. Stoaks. There were twenty-three present. The meeting was interesting and inspiring. It was brought out in songs, readings, and talks the real value and sacredness of home life, that no one knows The responsibilities of holding the home together but mother. Also that a mother's good example and influence in the home was very important and that her great love and thought was for her children's welfare. It was emphasized that the early training which children received remained with them through life. The meeting closed with the benediction. Anna Hudnutt, Sec'y.
