Saving...
town. the youngest about 13 years old lives with me. James Douglas was the person who was blown up by the explosion of the Morelle he was no relation, but was one my best friends--so that by loosing James & Joseph Douglas I have lost two of the best friends I had in the country. Elizabeths father John H Knapp was a very enterprising man, at the time of his death he left very considerable property but was deeply involved--what will be left on the settlement of the estate it is impossible to say, if anything. I am placed in a situation in which it depends much when [illegible] to settle and arrange the estate. Elizabeth wishes to be kindly remembered to you & hope to see you she says next spring-but as to that it is very uncertain for I do not intent to see New York unless I am much better off then when I left it. I am your affectionate son Henry Eno Stephen Eno From Henry Eno Recd Oct. 17. 1838 SE Stephen Eno Esq Pine Plains Dutchess Co N.Y.
