[1 Aug 1839] This indenture made this first day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine between Henry Eno of the town of Fort Madison Lee County, & Territory of Iowa and Elizabeth [S] Eno his wife of the one part and William Eno of the town of Pine Plains County of Dutchess, and State of New York of the other part for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and [sold?] and by these [forecasts?] doth grant bargain & sell unto the said party of the second part & to his heirs & [assignees?] forever all that certain lot or parcel of land Situate lying and being in the town of Fort Madison in said County & is known & distinguished as Lot Number one hundred and thirty nine in the map of said town together with the buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the premises aforesaid with all the priviledges [sic] and appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said party of the second part his heirs & assignees forever Provided always that these [presents] are upon the express condition that if the said parties of the first part their heirs executors or administrators shall pay or cause to be paid to the said party of the second part his heirs executors or administrators the sum of fifteen hundred dollars in one year from the first day of September next with Interest at the rate of ten per cent in manner particularly specified in a certain note or obligation bearing even
