Penn Yan July 11 1835 Dear Father I have had occasion to write so frequently to William that I have neglected writing to you but it was because I supposed you would of course see what I wrote to him I had intended coming home this spring but it was almost impossible for me to leave, this summer I am alone in the office - I shall however see Old Dutchess in August if I possibly can - My business is of such a nature that altho I cannot say it is very profitable still it has confined me more to my office this year than common - I have enjoyed very good health until within the last fortnight I caught a bad cold which settled in my lungs and kept me confined to the house about a week - I am now however pretty well I am very careful of my health which I find rather necessary - I feel much anxiety about Rufus I hope you will proceed in obtaining some employment for him which will keep him from idleness - I do think that he will do well if he has a chance - I have nothing of Interest to write I hope soon to
