Since I wrote the first page Oliver has come from the office and brought the news that the president was dead we heard yesterday but did not beleive it but it is too true and Also brought katys letter stateing that [Jimema? Aimena?] was sick And that her father and mother and sisters were [illegible] [Hheide?] made us all feell verry bad I hope that [Aimena?] will doo evry thing that lays in her power to restore her health again Henry i hope and trust that the will be kind and good and spare no cost nor paines dont let her doo anything that is hard I think that she [workes?] so hard last summer the dear little stella what would she doo if she had to part with her ma grandmother hopes that she will not [illegible] wander stella here when we was [A? I?] makeing sugar she would have had a nice time she and willy could got snow and put sugar on it we have got A little cake [illegible] for her and will send it the first oppertunity Naylor has not come out of the woods yet we dont know how mutch he has made
