Philadelphia May 11th 1862 To Henry Child Dear Brother as it is Sunday eavening I will write you a lines to let you know tht we are all well and that we have not forgotten you and hope this will find you and yours also I wrote aletter to send to you some three week ago and I forgot your adress and it laid solong that I would not send it Toni said they got aletter from you last monday saying you were near ly done your sowing and was going to plant corn soon you have got much the start of us here there is but vary little grain sowed yet it has ben vary wet and cold all the spring except a little while when the snow went off it was vary warm we had a grat flood for this country Father and Seth Strickland said it was higher by three feet than they ever siw it before it has ben a vary poor spring for sugar makers Naylor has made 6.000 lbs from 5.000 trees the ol felow says be g--d much on ever
