You ask me what I got Christmas well I got an easy rattan rocking chair from Walter my cousin that was here gave me a silk neck scarf. her sister sent me a nice velvet picture frame with her picture in it. My Aunt Ellen sent me a very beautiful [Heat?] [bond?] worked in kensington stitch and then I got from two cousins /?/ in [Chateaugain?] a pair of very nice mittens and a beautifuul portfolio for which I wish to thank them many. Were you at [Malone?] [since?] Christmas. If so did you see [Hals?] new [illegible]? [illegible] ought to write to me. Do you [remember?] the little short lead pencil I stole of [at?] [Wats?] the one with the metal top? I have it yet [as?] I am very [illegible] of it shal try and keep it to [remember?] you by. Mell
