Independence Iowa April 26.85 My dear Cousin Min: Your letter of the 3rd I did not get till about ten days after. I think there must be some thing wrong with your mailing clerk perhaps he carries your letters in his pockets a while just for luck had better discharge him and hire him over. I meant to write to you last Sunday and set you a good example of prompness but we had company or some thing was in the way so I did not get around and this Please to write next Sunday if convenient and I will be [illegible] while and see them in all their moods [illegible] others we learn easyer I think I know you remarkably well for the chance I had and I would not be afraid of my good opinion being changed on a closer acquaintance well I am out of paper and will close with much Love Yours Mell
