64 Denison Iowa April 5th 1879 The Denison Total Abstinence Union met pursuant adjournment Meeting opened with singing Prayer by the Chaplin Rev J B Hawk Minutes of the last meeting read and corrected Mrs Familton & Mrs Plimpton read selected pieces as per Program The committee report the following question for debating next Saturday evening Resolved that a juditious license law would have a greater tending to advance the temperance cause than the present prohibiting law Speakers: A F Phelps & A B Kitts on the affirmative and Rev Mr Ward and C [illegible] on the negative Select reading by Mr Weldon and Mrs E S Plimpton
