July 5th 1879 The Denison Total Abstinence Union met pursuant to adjournment. The President Wm Famillion in the Chair Meeting opened with singing Prayer by the Chaplin Rev J B Hawk Minutes of the last meeting read and approved The President Stated to the meeting that this was the evening for the election of officers: to [illegible] one President 2 Vice Presidents a Secretary assistant Secretary a Treasurer + 5 Directors On motion of R Shaw Van the Rules of the society were suspended for the evening and the officers were elected by acclamation
