It is not certain yet wheather any more well men will get to go or not there has been non granted to our brigade since Nick got his, it don't hardly pay anyhow still I am not sory that I had one but I dont want another as long as we are so far off untill my time is out that is what you will hear them all say that have tried it but those that have not been are as anxious to go now as ever. Gen Reid is in command at Cairo. he tried hard to get this brigade there but did not succeed. for some reasons I should like to be stationed there and for others I would not I believe it is more sickly there than all most any other place but it would be nice about our mail and then we could live better there. things are Cheaper there than here but I must close as it is roll call and in a half hour the lights will have to be blown out. I shall expect an answer to this some time yours truly, Chas Cady
