There is nothing particular going on here at the present time. They are fortifying this place in a smaller compass than what the rebs did so that a few thousand men can hold it. Roberts returned on 22d safe and sound. he seemed to stand the trip well and none the worse for wear I understand that furlows for sick men have played out as a much larger proportion of that class have died than what there has of those sent to hospitals. There are so many that wont try to controll their apetites but eat everything that they can get their hands on while at the hospital such things that would be injurious are kept beyond their reach. We have men in our company that have been as sick as any that went home and that to since they went away that are now well and doing duty while not one of those who had sick furlows have returned
