Vicksburg March 2d/64 Dear Brother: Your wellcom letter came to hand in due time and was carefuly perused. I was glad to hear that you and yours was well and doing well. I cannot complain, My health is very good and I have not much to do, Robinson is drilling the recruits so I am relieved of that job and you bet I am not sory. I would rather do allmost anything else than to drill a squad of men Yesterday morning when I got up it was raining nicely and continued to do so until 9.Oclock when it cleared off and was pleasent the rest of the day but rather cool. Last night it froze some but this morning the sun shines bright and warm and the top of the ground is quite mudy
