Saving...
The regt has not returned yet but are in the neighborhod of Jackson We started their mail to them night before last, it was the first that has been sent since they left and as it had been acumilateing for so long a time there a large supply. There was some for nearly all and some had ten or twelve letters, it will be a great treat for them. I just heard that they will be in this evening. It will four weeks tonight since they started. I suppose that the friends will hear from some of the boys if not all by the time you get this. I am of the impression that the expedition was a failure from some cause not yet known to the public but of this I am not certain. The most of the time that they have been gone the weather could not have been better for such a tramp, but I hope that these kind of tramps are nearly finished
