I suppose that Hodzen has got rich enough off of the Danville folks and has concluded to look elsewhere for his fortune. I dont believe that he will find it here. Still he may. evry thing is high here and some make money while other do not. Gold dont grow on the bushes here any more than it does in other places. "E"d Hall you say has enlisted for a company clerk. If he aint sold them I can't see strait. This thing of company clerk has played out (it has never played in in our regt) Capt Bitner may detail his to do his writing and excuse him from other duty while in camp, but he weill have cary his knapsack and gun on a march and go into a fight the same as any other private. And if he is bilding himself up on a better fate than that his hopes may be blasted unless he can get in some other soft place
