Camp 15th Iowa Inft On the extreme right near the Chattahoochee river July 11th /64 Dear Brother This morning finds me well, with the excepsion of a few of Jobs comforters, but they are not very severe. So far the boys from our county have escaped the rebel bullets and are able to eat their allowance. The fourth and fifth we skirmished with the enemy for the line that we are now occupying Since which time we have spent the time near their lines Sharp Shooting and diging pitts & and building forts up till Saturday night when they pulled up stakes and fell back across the river which is half mile in the rear of the line they left. Our forces took possesion of their works Sunday morning while the rebs occupied
