(Eve on her father) The beauty and existing sensitivity of my childhood home and environs may be attributed to him the landscape artist....... Our grounds were beautiful and beautifully groomed by a perfectionist landscape artist - A pride and joy to me, March 26, 1985 I arose this morning at 3:30 a.m., 26 March 85, to write a tribute to my father who swam into my waking conscious mind... My father was a great man--the first environmentalist I ever knew. Long before we commonly knew the word existed and Webster may not yet have been tuned in... My father was a gentle, low-keyed man who deeply loved the land. His creed ever minded all growing supportive, constructive nature. He was an environmentalist long before the Reagan, the Watts and Ann Burfords existed--those with axes poised, armed to cut the world down for us---
