48. Music is the most emotional of the arts and that perhaps explains a universal love of it. In my life it has a distinct function. Nothing can take its place or serve its purpose. Musical expression appeals strongly to me and I derived keen pleasure and an utmost satisfaction in the harmonies of the part singing of the music groups and especially the glee club - only there was too little music and too much physics in a day. The basket-ball games too were loads of fun. And being on the girls team and having the opportunity to travel about to play at various high-schools is enjoyable to any student. I have always delighted in lots of action so what more was to be desired? Music and song to fill a spiritual need. Basket-ball which denoted clean sporting competition and exhilarating action. Being the "captain" of the team as a senior, furthermore involved no duties - only minor decisions to be made if anything at all. In fact if the truth were told having a captain was just a nice old established custom unnecessary though it may have been. to have one or not to have. What difference?
