-106- most rare gift to find in a [worknow?]. The wood comprising this furniture is protected merely by the seafares having been rubbed with wax. This leaves the natural grain and coloring with undiminished beauty. Some of these pieces are vastly satisfying aesthetically. There were also ship-covers to be made for old furniture so that it might fit more harmoniously into the new unit. A quilt too needed to be pieced for the additional bedroom of the expanded household. Moreover when it came to the curtains each room had its own original pattern and design grouped this in relation to motif and color about the Nor rugs. Even the dishes int his home are unequally monogrammed in black on the slightly curved but plain unridged white background which denotes the utmost simplicity in dinnerware. When it came time to do the planning of the rounds and the landscaping about the house, it was with an equal amount of willingness and enthusiasm that I turned my mind and my hands to the project. I am believed to possess a "green thumb" -- that curious thing that is supposed to make one have a way with plants and flowers which stimulates and encourages their thriving. My husband proudly
