Blakesburg Iowa Dec. 9th 1877 Mr Geo. S Finney yours of the 1st Inst came duly to hand daybefore yesterday. When I recd the letter expressing a wish to have a barrel or two of turkeys & chickens sent to you by express. a few days after I saw Mr Pinney asked him about the rates &c he rather discoraged me. Saying there had been such a terrible storm West, and trains so delayed, so then mentiond to you about the man at Liberty Vill, but as you say it is probable to late now. Well in the matter of Dave Stocker notes & mortgage, by the middle of Jany the Principle & Int. will be about 1200$ you seem to think it advisable to take an other mortgage, for the two notes not secured by mortgage, and all the Interest. I dont think it best to be in to much of a hurry about it. I thought this Probably he will want some more money and then I could propose what you have suggested. I know Dan and others think we are after his Place. it is best to go a little slow, it is all well secured now, and
