I see by the Papers that the Elk-Horn RR has been extended some 190 miles west of Valentine, and in the spring will be put through to Rapid City. We will have the Cars running her before this time next year, no mistake this time. I was down in Ross Bairs neighborhood a few days ago, stayed there over night, he is about gone with Consumption, he could not speak to any one. I was in Otto. two days this week, met Charley Finney there with his bran new wife, she is rather a nice looking young woman, he has gone into business in Selma, & doing well. Ed [Weir? Wein? Weis?] is still porter in a Keokuk hotel at $25.00 per mo. Walter Green always enquires after the Buck skin Man. - Mrs Worley died some 3 weeks ago of Consumption. Miles Hough is still trailing along after the old sort, all well, kind regards to all. from your Father &c SG Finney
