Blakesburg Ia 10-1-89 Mr Ger. S Finney It has been quite a long time since we have heard any word from you. I saw Mr Trussell in town to day, he said they had a letter from Henny not long since, and they understood you intended going up to the White river Country. I think I rote you some time ago that Thom Porter was up there and had taken up a Claim of 160 acres, he writes home he he has one of the finest springs on his land he ever saw, sufficient for 1000 head of Cattle, you know that John Denny had a Valuabl Claim, Nathan intends moveing on to it, as soon as he can Ps I will send you a Bbl of nice apples soon to Oneal.
