Buchanan 1892 Dubuque, Iowa July 12/92 My beloved sister Your interesting and affectionate letter of the 18th ultmo was received & read with heartfelt gratitude & I would have acknowledged receipt eve this but that I have been feeling wholly unfit for any kind of mental or physical exertion whatever. I do not recollect ever to have been so completely prostrated and enfeebled so since my return from my last eastern tour to the seashore. And now that I have taken my seat I am scarcely able to write legibly or at 2
