It will take many more days to make the rounds in the Louvre alone, to say nothing about the many other galleries. I found some of my good friends this morning - some lovely portraits of Rembrandt's and Velasqueths Infanta Marguerita, a darling picture of a child. This afternoon we went to see the cathedral of Notre Dame. It wasn't so impressive as we thought it would be, in comparison with some of the other marvels of the world - but it is lovely all the same. It is simple in the interior yet beautiful. The lines are charming but it is not nearly so fairy like and fantastic and unreal as the cathedral of Milan with its Christmas cake icing and millions of spires and statues. We had a lovely tramp trip up country in Switzerland. One night at Montreaux from where we came by boat from Geneva, one night in Interlaken, two in Lucerne. (Kastanienbaum near Lucerne) really out
