I would like you to write for me at Slaytons this fall & winter. I must tell you another experience at Marshalltown. Mrs. Nettie Sandford a red haired lady of 43- widow with one child newspaper correspondent politician republican- womans right- & all new fangled notions boiled down together came to call, she was a friend of Mrs. Fletcher- that is she had plied her pen to make Mrs. F a reputation so she was "a friend". I did not like her but treated her coolly but courteously (you know how) & Mrs.
