to the proposed "pleasure exertion" next summer, well, the weather has been so cold that I have been glad to stay close to the fire, besides you know I don't have "no great opinion" of camping out - am too old and "infirrum" to enjoy sleeping on a hard bed and be devoured by mosquitoes. I read portions of your letters aloud to the assembled family including one guest, Aunt Ella, & we had a big laugh at your account of this "episode" and of the figure Mahala must have cut-in Mrs. Shinner's under garments. Papa enjoyed it especially as he is an ardent admirer of her ladyship. Am sorry I didn't see her. Aiden has a vivid recollection of her and carries her "autograph letter" as a souvenir.
