was one boy I kissed in pity. But I'd promised to tell you about the other incident at camp. It was when one of those very small boys padded up to you with a minor scratch. You took him by the hand to lead him inside and the gentle way you took care of him made the thought, unbidden, leap into my mind: "What a father he'd make for my children!" And just for an instant - that seemed how it was, and I felt toward you the way a woman must feel toward the man to whom she has given children.
