(3) like that one of mine about the three-year contract. But couldn't you guess that I felt hurt and neglected & was trying to hurt back? I know I had no slightest justification but I'm selfish & self-centered and if I were you I'd take a paddle to me. What was wrong with me was the fact that several weeks ago you had said that if the war looked to last indefinitely we wouldn't wait, but since then you seemed to have changed your mind. Accordingly I was very cheerful about saying we'd wait. And you've been acting as if all I am marrying you for is the home you could provide for me. As an item of honest truth, I'd be willing to live in one room if I were with you, and I don't want to wait until after the war! I only said so because you did.
