of my visit? It is very important that I know this; don't try to save my feelings. You see I felt an undercurrent of disapproval and if you actually did feel it then I wasn't imagining things - and I should hate to be the type of woman who suffers from imaginary grievances. In fact, I won't let myself be! I turn toward the sun of approval like a flower; I sensed disapproval from you. You didn't sound as if you were joking when you said (about the "option") what you did, in the station. Your eyes didn't look it, either. But I didn't say anything because - like you - I shrink from even disputes. To be quite frank your letter went beyond what I had thought
