my spirits raw. Anyway, I've always had to be told that I really was wanted. If a group of playmates suddenly decided to go somewhere else, I held back unless someone said, "You come, too." If no one did, I slipped away to myself and felt bitterly hurt. Adults dismissed it as "wanting to be coaxed," but it was simply the desperate need for assurance. I've been writing you all this week in these booklets - but in glancing over them I've seen they are too revealing. If you read them all, I shouldn't have a shred of pride left to shelter in. But I am going to enclose one because I don't know how else I can phrase what I want to ask.
