August , 1902. Sun. 10. Rained in night and cold cleaning day. At church morn. & evg. Mrs. Carrie W. Miller of Foreign Mission Soc evg. - Coll. 5.44 Mon. 11. Fair morn, N.W. brisk only, 49º at 630. Very fine day. Said to have been a light touch of frost in low places. Mowed E. & outside & croquet; and hoed strawberries evg. Tues. 12. 54º at 6:30; fair. N.W. gtle. - Rainy day after 11 o'c. - & cold & dreary. East. All at Mrs. Hewit's, supper & evg. Wed. 13. Rain in night, soaking, muddy. 58º morn. Cloudy all day, warmer, Dug potatoes evg. Thurs. 14. Cloudy & wet morn, 62º cloudy all day, but little rain. Mite Soc. supper. (Piles painful) Fri. 15. Rained in night & early morn. 60º N.E. gtle. - Fairing P.M. - 3rd operation a.m. by Dr. Bowen suffering P.M. could not work much P.M. Sat. 16. Bright morn. 58º N.E. breeze Fairish P.M. but threatening evg. Rather more comfortable than yesterday. Work as usual, & abstrcting. Mowed outside & croquet, evg.
