Tues. 21. Fair, S.E. strong wind, 44. Cloudy & mild. Pulled beats & carrots P.M. while C. in office. Mr. Leonard cleaned & papered her house. Wed. 22. Fair, S.W. 54º. Warm day. 70º P.M. Trimmed off Woodbine front porch. Evg. an hour or so at speech of Col [Sooter?] Dem. candidate for Congress. C. in P.M. Thurs. 23. Cloudy, S.E. 56º. Sprinkles 70º P.M. Cleaned our cellar, P.M. C. in P.M. Fri. 24. Cloudy 48º. Sprinkle in night. Fair day, east breeze. 68º. Sat. 25. Rainy morn. SE 46º. Cool until P.M. Very warm evg, S wing. Quiet at office. Somewhat giddy again.
