April, 1906. Sun. 22. Ice this morn., frosty, N.W. breeze 60° max. At church morn. & Evg. Streets quite dusty. Hyacinth in bloom. Mon. 23. 32° at 6.o'c. fair. cold day, & raw S wind. & very dusty. Froze last night Catarrh right eye bad! did hardly any thing in garden & not much in office. C. in part of the day. Baldwin cleaned hen house. Tues. 24. Warmer, but cold S.E. wind & much warmer Evg. Fair, with light sprinkle P.M. C. in P.M. - Feeling better, & in garden after supper. Wed. 25. Warm & pleasant morn., S.E. wind, Warmest day yet, 78° max. Threatening, & much cooler after 3 PM Garden morn. & Evg. Thurs. 26. Cloudy morn. after a little shower in night. Fair & cool to-day. Dinner at M.E. About home till 10:30 am, & after 5:30 p.m. sowed onions, carrot & parsnips. C in A.M. only. Fri. 27 Fair morn, showery Evg. About home till 9:30 Planted Early Sunrise Corn & Potatoes morn. First mess asparagus. Sat. 28. Rainy until towards night, giving top of ground a much-needed wetting. C in PM - Planted a DeSoto Plum Tree in garden Evg.
