May, 1906. Sun. 6. Water froze. Cold and cloudy day, N.W. breeze. - Meeting morn. and Evg. - wrote Leonard Hancock & the girls. Mer. failed to reach 50°. Dinner at the "Allamaker." Mon. 7. Heavy frost, - water froze. Clear & pleasant morn. Cold day, fairish Schroda spaded. - Charlotte got home 4:15 train, Ms. Angier better. Rainy evg. Tues. 8. Rained in night, & a little snow with it this morn. Rainy day, and quite a snow squall P.M. - Preparing Bordeaux morn. & Evg. Wed. 9. Froze again. Fair morn. Mercury got up to nearly 60° - April-like, with a couple light showers, N.W. breezes Planted 4 Decorah Roses & I doz Pansies. C in P.M. Thurs. 10. Fair a little frost and light sprinkles P.M. - Dinner at church. C in A.M. & P.M. Fri. 11. Warmer, fair, S.E. some rain in night. - C in A.M. - about home till 10:30 morn. - Put up grape vines very late. Entwisle building Poultry Fence yesterday & to-day. - 1st spraying - Hale Plum & Whitney Apple Sat. 12. Warm night & morn. S.W. Fair day & windy, mer. nearly 80°. Mowed, morn. first - Early plums full bloom - quite late - C in P.M. I quit at 4. Put out small roses & other house plants & planted some flower seeds.
