At Baraca class with Ed Goody [illegible] evg. Gov. Cummins speech in Pard. PM. Tues. 19. Cloudy morn. Rainy afternoon. Big rain down the creek, so P.M. train did not get in till 8 o'c. Wed. 20. Fair morn. Showers P.M. and hair: much cooler evg & N.W. wind. C. in A.M. & P.M. - Pastor Langridge & family took supper with us. At prayer mtg. & council later. Thurs. 21. Cold & misty morn 55°. West wind. Started fire at office. Cold all day & showery. - C.in .PM. - Left eye ache kept me from Mite Soc. & polit. speeches Evg. by Larrabee & Healy & Young. First peas. Amer. Wonder 63 days. Fri. 22. Cold & fair, morn. N.E. cold & cloudy all day. & light showers. - C. in A.M. & P.M. Big caucus Evg. 316 votes - for Cummins vs. Perkins 201 to 115. Sat. 23. Fair, morn. N. Westerly breeze. Very fair day. C. in a while A.M. & P.M. County convention P.M. went to Cummins decisively. Spraying with fir tree oil soap morn & Evg.
