August, 1906. Sun. 26. Clearing, N.W. & much cooler. 55° Evg. At church & Baraca class morn. Not out to union service at C.P. church Evg. Mon. 27. 50° at 6:30 a.m. N.W. Fine day & quite cool. Not over 75°. C. in P.M. Seedling plums ripening. said to be a light frost in low places. Tues. 28. 52° morn. fair S.W. breeze. Grew much warmer P.M. & rained Evg. Growing head-ache, severe in left eye P.M. & Evg. - C. in P.M. Wed. 29. Fair & cool morn, N.W. Partly cloudy P.M. - C. in P.M. Eyes some better; but had to do abstracting all day. Thurs. 30. Beautiful cool morn. Fine day. About 75° max. Feeling much better. About home after 3:30 &c. in office. Gathered onions, picked up plums, mowed a little & pulled weeds. First ripe Rocky Fords. Fri. 31. Glorious morn. Cool nights. Fair to-day & nearly 80° max. - C. in a while, morn. while I consulted oculist Fisk who finds optic nerves weak - left one quite weak. - Called on Bro. S. D. Torrey who was badly injured Aug. 13th. Sat. 1. September. Cloudy morn. Very rainy all P.M. & cool. S.E.
