January, FRIDAY 1, 1864. got up at 5 A.M. helped uncle Jonah feed. Started home after 9 got home about 12, last nite they had supper at Louisville for the aid of soldiers rained fore part of nite got cold toward morn sharp wind today & quite cold turkey rost at home supper in [?] tonite. SATURDAY, 2. I got up at 7 fed. eat breakfast John got thrown & hurt at 1/2 past 10 Dr. got here at 12 took [1 hour?] to dress his face Choped wood & [choired?] I have been unwell today. Cold today Sade Selby is here. Came Wensday SUNDAY, 3. got up at 5 Cold morn stayed at home uncles Ely & John Smith Cyrus & Nathan Conard came to see John I did not read much today. It has been cold, snowed a little to nite
