July, SATURDAY, 2, 1864. of duty at 10 Came to Camp got box of grub to day, great excitement among citizens &c. drew 100 rounds catridges at night slept but little at night. Warm day SUNDAY, 3. up & out at day light eat B at 4 A.M, fell in & marched, out south of town about 8 marched to shepards town by sun set crossed river. layed down & slept what I could after 12 Warm have marched MONDAY, 4. on the march by day light crossed canal & Cook B. & rested a little. marched a little further stoped in woods. had pickets fired on rested a little, marched past sharp[shooting?] post on near sandy bank [and had?] grub at night hot [marched?] 15 [miles?]
