Mansfield Jun 29"/61 SG Chambers Dr sir Wm received a line stating you had some money for him: it has not yet came to hand: if it has not been sent please send State Bank of Indiana or (Bank of the State) or any Eastern money at Pas as Illinois money is at 10 Rct discount here Harvy's folks have had the soar throat among them but are better now. The rest are well so far as I know. The excitements here about the Political Troubles are immense and I think the crisis through which we are now passing will test the strength of our Government. A great majority here are opposed to compromise at a surrender of principle we may as well meet the issue now as at some future time and if a majority cant rule "we must resort to the last argument of Kings,"
